Arcadia was created to bring the innovation of autonomous vehicle technology and robotics to farm fields and other unstructured environments. David Dorhout originally designed Prospero the Robot Farmer as a proof of concept for farmers to give general instructions to a swarm of small, autonomous robots to make farming decisions plant by plant. This frees farmers from machines, enabling them to focus on the business and science of farming.  

Since Prospero's first steps it has contributed to the conversation of precision agriculture; gaining international recognition and appearing in over 100 print, radio and TV programs. Prospero has also been in several museum exhibitions on the Future of Farming including London's Museum of Science and the Guggenheim in New York. Today Arnold, the advanced Arcadia Tractor, is hard at work in various locations making the concept of Prospero a commercial reality, coming soon to a field, farm, forest or golf facility near you.
